The United States Army Heritage Museum features permanent exhibits and interpretations from the men and women who have served the U.S. Army. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9am-4:45pm and Saturday 9am-1am.
Housed in a historical fire station built in 1888, this museum offers two floors of exhibits and displays of artifacts that date back to 1789. Hours of operation are 10am-8pm. Admission is free and group tours are available with prior notice.
This museum offers 16 galleries featuring a folk art gallery which houses the nation’s largest collection of Carlisle Indian School artifacts. Hours of operation are Monday7pm-9pm, Tuesday-Friday 10am-4pm and Saturday 10am-1pm.
The Hessian Powder Museum exhibits the storage facility used to contain sulfur, brimstone and other explosive materials during the Revolutionary War. Originally constructed in 1777, the magazine is thought to be built by approximately 40 Hessian soldiers captured by Washington’s troops at the Battle of Trenton. Located at the Carlisle Barracks, self-guided and group tours are available.
