The 1st Presbyterian Church is recognized as the oldest public building in Carlisle, and therefore as a historic attraction. President George Washington attended this church on October 5, 1794, before marching off to Western Pennsylvania to the whiskey rebellion. With history dating back to 1752, the St. John’s Episcopal Church has over 900 baptized members. Visitors are welcome to attend the services available on Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 8am.
