The 1st Presbyterian Church is recognized as the oldest public building in Carlisle, and therefore as a historic attraction. President George Washington attended this church on October 5, 1794, before marching off to Western Pennsylvania to the whiskey rebellion. The public is welcome to attend Sunday worship at 10:45am or prayer time at 9:15am.

With history dating back to 1752, the St. John’s Episcopal Church has over 900 baptized members. Visitors are welcome to attend the services available on Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 8am. The annual Twelfth Night Boar's Head & Yule Log Festival is featured on the grounds of the church.
